When I first set out to create a futures trading community I had to really think of what motivates people to belong to a trade room. The obvious answer is “profits“ which only makes sense. Why belong to an unprofitable community versus one that makes money. However I wanted it to be more than just that. I wanted people to feel comfortable in a forgiving atmosphere where it was ok to make mistakes and to eventually evolve as traders to the point where they themselves would come to the room ready to call trades for all involved.

You see trading is very much like a entrepreneurial venture in a sense. You get out of it what you put into it right.

So in setting up the community my goals were as follows:
1) To create a community of like minded helpful traders who would make each other better.
2) To facilitate knowledge in a way where the material I was presenting was not dry or boring but rather informative and practically educational.
3) To have a system that many could trade and still be profitable for all.
4) To be able to deliver on promises made and to be transparent always.

I think that for the most part I have accomplished most of these goals in one sense or another although I have a long way to go. Most of the people here at the Dow Trading Room have been generous and understanding. They have worked with me and I have worked with them to try to make the Forex Room what I envisioned.

To become a master at something they say it takes roughly ten thousand hours. Like any other profession it takes comittment and sacrifice to make it. There really is no better business than to be a trader. One that is profitable. However I did have to put in my ten thousand hours and I still learn every day refining my skills even more.
